Beat the Heat with These Summer Fashion Hacks

Summer is around the corner and it’s that time of year where heat and humidity are super high. While the warmer temperatures are perfect for outdoor activities or a quick beach visit, unfortunately, everyone hates excessive sweating. Here are a few style ideas that will help you feel comfortable and keep you looking fashionable.

    Choose Loose Outfits

As the temperature rises, try choosing clothes that are actually loose, such as a flowy maxi dress that will keep you cooler than a pair of shorts and a skintight tank. Loose clothing lets air pass along the skin, speeding evaporation and carrying off any excess heat. And, the looser, the better.

    Know Your Fabric

One of the easiest ways to get the right summer clothes is by knowing the fabrics they’re made of. Shop for cotton, as it’s light and breathable which makes it perfect for polos and t-shirts. Linen doesn’t retain moisture either, so any sweat can dry quickly. Activewear fabrics that are all made of synthetic blends can help you combat the heat while keeping you effortlessly stylish.

    The Right Shorts

Shorts are the perfect summer staple, as they allow ventilation for your exposed legs and are great to wear during the hottest times of the year. You can also try finding comfortable ones made from the kind of summer fabric that works best for you.

    Choose Light Colors

Dark colors absorb much more light and that can make you feel hot compared to light-colored clothes. Whenever possible, you should try sticking to light-colored clothes that reflect light and keep you looking and feeling cool.

    Wide-Brimmed Hats

You don’t need to be on the beach to wear those chic wide-brimmed hats when you can wear them even in the city. They protect you from taking in too much sun and provide shade to your head and face. Hats can also effortlessly up your fashion game. Consider shopping for hats made of lightweight and breathable material to offset the trapped heat.

    Cotton Scarves as Hair Ties

If you have long hair, you’ll know how annoying it is whenever it sticks to the back of your neck. Get a small cotton scarf and tie up your hair to keep it out of the way.
